Alta Marie Hall

Alta Marie Hall, 94, of Hamburg, died Monday, January 2, 2023, at Stonegate Villa Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crossett. Mrs. Hall was a native of Danville; a resident of Hamburg for many years, and a former resident of Wilmot. She attended Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. As well as being a homemaker and raising nine children, she worked as a press operator for Rapid Die Moulding for many years and the Hamburg Shirt Factory for several years. Mrs. Hall enjoyed listening to music and dancing and was an avid dominoes player. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas George Hall in 1995; two sons, George Donald Hall in 1996 and Thomas La-Ray “Tom” Hall in 2021; her parents, Charley Jasper and Cordelia “Delia” Woodall Staten; three sisters, Essie Mae Edwards Hudson, Dorothy L. Edwards and Viola Towe and three brothers, George H. Staten, R.C. Staten and her twin, Alva Lee Staten.

She is survived by three daughters, Frances Frisby and husband, David, of Monticello, Jean Kersey and husband, Joe, of Sherwood and Sue Barrett and husband, Kenneth, of Hamburg; four sons, Larry Hall and wife, Shelia, of Crossett, Travis W. Hall SR and wife, Kathy, of Hamburg, David Hall and wife, Marilyn, of Fountain Hill and Harold Hall and wife, Lisa, of Crossett; 20 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2023, in the Hamburg Cemetery with Dr. Bobby Pennington officiating. 

Visitation will be 12:45 – 1 p.m., Wednesday at the cemetery.
