Willene Bozeman Thurman

Willene Bozeman Thurman, 90, of Hamburg, passed away Friday, January 3, 2020, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. Mrs. Thurman was a native and lifelong resident of Hamburg and the Promise Land Community outside of Hamburg. She was a homemaker and a member of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John Adrian Thurman in 2015; a son, Johnny Allen “Bebop” Thurman in 2008 and her parents, William and Pearl Lee Chavis Bozeman.

She is survived by a daughter, Kay Thurman Montgomery of Monticello; a son, Danny Ray Thurman and wife, Vickie, of Petal, Mississippi; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2020, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Josh Luellen officiating. Burial will be in the Lacey Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bobby Thurman, Lamar Thurman, Thomas Wells, Blaine “Buddy” Kilcrease, Trey Montgomery and Chad Smith. Honorary pallbearer is Kevin Martin. Memorials may be made to the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church, 765 Ashley Road 70, Hamburg, AR 71646. 

Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., Monday in the funeral home chapel.
