Shirley Cummings Lochala

Shirley Cummings Lochala, 93, of Hamburg, died Tuesday, December 11, 2018.  Mrs. Lochala was a native of Elum, Indiana and a resident of Hamburg for most of her life.  She was the Valedictorian of her graduating class at Hamburg High School, and she was a member of the Friendship Pentecostal Church in Crossett.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William James “Dub” Lochala in 2000; her parents, Rev. A.B. Cummings and Lula Kerkoff Stout; her step-mother, Nancy Giles Cummings; a sister, Faye Dunton and a brother, Cecil Atkins.

She is survived by a son, John David Lochala and wife, Sandi, of Duncanville, Texas; a sister, Betty Harbison Anderson, and husband, Ron, of Morrilton; two grandchildren, David Lochala of Hot Springs and Tammi Sheppeard of Bedford, Texas and two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Garrett.

Graveside services are 10 a.m., Saturday, December 15, 2018, in the Hamburg Cemetery with Bro. Charles Perdue officiating.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN  38148-0142.
