Rev. Cecil Harvey, 75, of Wilmot, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018. Bro Cecil was a native of Yell County, raised in Dumas, a former resident of Crossett for several years and a resident of Wilmot for the past 40 years. He was a 1961 graduate of Dumas High School, a veteran of the United States Army and was a Staff Sergeant in the Arkansas National Guard for six years. He was a Minister and was the Pastor of Family Worship Center in Lake Village for the past seven years and the Bonita Church of God in Bonita, Louisiana for 33 years. He also worked as a carpenter and handyman.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Bing Harvey in 2008; his parents, Vernon and Ruby Williams Harvey and a brother, Deon Harvey.
He is survived by his wife, Lenn Chatham Carr Harvey of Wilmot; two daughters, Cecilia Segars and husband, Larry, of Hot Springs and Kelli Harvey of Bastrop, Louisiana; a step-son, Jeff Carr of Springfield, Missouri; two step-daughters, Tommie Stapleton of Shreveport, Louisiana and Christy Pippen of Crossett; three sisters, Zelma Book of Hamburg, Clemetene Martin of Little Rock and Sharon Burns of Dumas; six grandchildren, Kyle Shell, Claire Bussey, John Segars, Lasha Freemyer, Chelsea Sepulvado and Nicholas Sepulvado; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2018 at the Family Worship Center in Lake Village, with Rev. Don Borland and Rev. Alfred Lee Harvey officiating. Burial will be in the Bell Cemetery outside of Wilmot. Pallbearers are John Segars, Zach Bussey, Payton Stapleton, Jordan Stapleton, Collin Stapleton, Jeffery Carr, Mike Pippen and Eric Freemyer. Honorary pallbearers are the Deacons of the Family Worship Center. Memorials may be made to the Family Worship Center, PO Box 162, Lake Village, AR 71653.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., Friday at the church.
