Peggy Starling Jones Moyer

Peggy Starling Jones Moyer, 75 of Hamburg, died Saturday, October 19, 2019, at her residence. Mrs. Moyer was a native of Ashley County, a former resident of Eudora and Conroe, Texas, having moved back to Hamburg in 1986. She graduated from Hamburg High School in 1962 and was a member of Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church. Widowed at an early age, she worked in many different occupations, in the Houston, Texas area, to provide for her children. She enjoyed a good cup of coffee, long talks, mowing her yard and tending to her flowers and plants. Mrs. Moyer devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Doyle Lamar “Buck” Jones, Jr. in 1976 and Harry E. Moyer in 2003; a son, John Wesley Jones in 2004; her father, CT Starling and her mother, Muriel Janette Hunter Harris; a sister, Sharon Lohr Cook and a brother, Charles “Reggie” Starling

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Jones Wells and fiance, Travis Hall of Hamburg; five grandchildren, Victoria Jones Murphey and husband, Corey of Houston, Texas, Samantha Wells and fiance Matthew Johnson, of Hamburg, Ethan Wells of Fayetteville, Mason Jones of Houston, Texas and Elizabeth Flores and husband, Jordan of San Marcos, California; two great-grandchildren, Kaelyn Wells and Wesley Murphey; a niece, Teresa Lohr Vitz of Montgomery, Texas; a nephew, Troy Lohr of Conroe, Texas; three half sisters, Retta Franklin of Central, Lousiana, Yvette Druckenmiller of Little Rock and Christal Starling of Hamburg; a half brother, Kirk Starling of Hamburg; three bonus grandchildren, Tray Hall of Dermott, Bryan Hall and wife, Meagan of Hamburg and Kelsey Hall of El Dorado and nine bonus great-grandchildren, Brianna Miller, Kaylie Miller, Travie Hall, Landon Johnson, Logan Johnson, Colby Hall, Avery Hall, Emory Hall and Brystol Hall.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2019, in the Promise Land Cemetery with Bro. Josh Luellen officiating. Memorials may be made to Promise Land Cemetery Association, c/o Kaci Wallace, P.O. Box 509, Hamburg, AR 71646.

Vistation will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday, October 21, 2019, at the funeral home.
