Johnny Ray McManus

Johnny Ray McManus, Sr., 65 of Mexia passed away December 31, 2017 at his residence. Johnny was a native of Wilmot and a resident of the Limestone County community in Mexia, Texas since the early 70’s.  Johnny was the founder of the NEWS motorcycle club and he loved his community and fellow brothers. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and a brother to all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie (Jack) & Nellie Ruth Spires McManus; a sister, Jackie Ruth McManus; a brother-in-law, Byron Smith; a niece, Nikki Carpenter and a father-in-law, Blake Johnson.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Margie McManus of Mexia, Texas; four children, Joey Anderson & wife, Ginger, Varinia Kirk & husband, Bob, Johnny Ray McManus, Jr. & wife, Shelina and Kristi Hawkins & husband, Clay; two sisters, Anita McManus  of Parkdale and Betty Acord & husband Eddie of Fairfield, Texas; a brother, Leroy McManus of Hamburg; 12 grandchildren, Samantha Klink, Melissa McManus, Jacob Anderson, Jake Klink, Blake McKinney, Allison McManus, Austin Anderson, Caleb Heard, Lily Kirk, R.J. Kirk, Cade Hawkins and Paige Hawkins; a great grandson, Lyrik Ramirez and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Graveside services are 2 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018 in the Bell Cemetery with Brother Eddie Acord officiating.  Pallbearers are Lee Erler, Clay Hawkins, Cade Hawkins, Mike Jones, Larry Parr, Big Man Eric Lundh, Flipper Leslie Neal, Baby Boy Eric Netherland and Toby Bain. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Everett, John Marley, Clay Smith Brian Acord, Jacob Anderson Joey Anderson, Lil John, Byron Smith, Samuel Smith, Austin Anderson and R.J. Kirk.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
