Jamie Riley Carpenter, 58, of Hamburg, died Sunday, December 22, 2019, in Little Rock. Mrs. Carpenter was a native and life long resident of the Promise Land Community outside of Hamburg. She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her father, James Clark “Red” Riley and her grandparents, Ira & Lula Bell Riley.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Herbert Ray Carpenter, Sr.; her son, Herbert “Bubba” Carpenter, Jr., and wife, Christina, all of Hamburg; two daughters, Amy Savage and husband, Ricky, of Fountain Hill and Justi Carpenter of Hamburg; a brother, Garth Stuhr of Texas; a sister, Monica Desline of Florida; five grandchildren, Dee, Hillary, Riley, Mason and Ray and one great-grandson, Beau.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Friday, December 27, 2019, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joey Meredith officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bryan Hall, Delbert Sigafus, Ricky Hawkins, Brian Oden, Johnny Pierce and Steve Brooks. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Mack Sullivan, Mitchel Taylor, Lamar Higginbotham and Frank Higginbotham.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
