Glenda Crawford Murphy, 68, of Hamburg, died Thursday, September 20, 2018. Mrs. Murphy was a native of Crossett and a resident of Hamburg for the past 50 years. She was a 1968 graduate of Crossett High School and a member of the Egypt Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Murphy dedicated her life to nursing, and her passion in life was taking care of others. She worked as a nurse for Dr. Toon and Dr. Burt for over 30 years, and before her retirement, she worked for the Main Line Health Clinic in Wilmot for 10 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.
She is preceded in death by her husband, of 48 years, Billy Faye Murphy in 2017; her parents, Wilmer L. and Ruby Mae Shields Crawford and a sister, Lafran Buchanan.
She is survived by her daughters, Christy Murphy and Carol Ann Murphy and husband, Roy, all of Hamburg; her sister, Marsha Parker of Sheridan; two granddaughters, Haley Moyer, and husband, Adam, and Cami Murphy; a great-grandson, Caden Moyer; her aunt, Maedean Shivers of Crossett and her nephews, Shawn House and James House.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2018, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Farrell Breshears officiating. Burial will be in the Dailey Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tommy Clark, Freddy Scroggins, Chuck Kinnaird, Johnny Ray Clark, Roy E. Murphy, Dr. Barry Thompson, Doyle Murphy and Robbie Cunningham. Memorials may be made to the Volunteers of the Crossett Pound, c/o Kaye Robinson, 286 Brookings Road, Crossett, AR 71635.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
