Frances B. Wilson

Frances B. Wilson, 87, of Portland, died Thursday, November 15, 2018.  Mrs. Wilson was a native and lifelong resident of Portland, worked for the Farm Equipment Company and Gus Pugh & Sons Gin for 25 years and was a member of the Portland United Methodist Church. Mrs. Wilson loved cooking, quilting and was an avid Razorback fan.

She is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda Maxwell; her parents, Dave and Lydia Jane Estes Hackett; her half-sisters, Estelle Crawford, and Mary Breedlove and her half-brother, Cecil Peoples.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Bill Wilson of Portland; her children, Angie Maxwell of Hot Springs and Perry Wilson and wife, Cecilia, of Hollis; a brother, Henry Dave Hackett of Dermott; her sisters, Bea Mazzanti of Lake Village, Vaughter Glover of McGehee and Sylvia Pierce of Hamburg; two granddaughters, Candice Parkerson and Anna Wilson, two great-granddaughters, McKenzie Parkerson and Lana Miles and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2018, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Hilton Lane and Bro. James Thompson officiating.  Burial will be in the Portland Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bruce Smith, Allen Chandler, Joey White, Clifton Barry, Mike Brooks and Dave Hackett, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are David Holt, Donnie Goodwin, Leyden Pugh and Douglas Crane. Memorials may be made to the Amanda Leigh Maxwell Scholarship Fund, PO Box 548, Crossett, AR 71635, the Portland United Methodist Church, PO Box 400, Portland, AR 71663 or the Portland Cemetery Association, PO Box 174, Portland, AR 71663. 

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m, Sunday in the funeral home chapel.
