Edith Wilson Hill, 92, of Hamburg, passed from this life peacefully, Saturday, December 29, 2018. Mrs. Hill was a native of Star City and a resident of Hamburg for over 70 years. She was a retired Medical Assistant and a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church for over 15 years. She enjoyed fishing, camping, sewing, and her favorite hobby, shopping. Her greatest joy was spending time with and cooking for her family, whom she adored.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Randolph N. Hill; a son, Robin W. “Sandy” Hill; a grandson, Eric Waylon Hill; her parents, Joe V. & Lela Edwards Wilson; a brother, Dr. J.L. Wilson and a sister, Edna Wilson Camp.
She is survived by her children, Diane Hill Merriweather, and husband, Danny, of Crossett; Danny D. Hill of Hamburg and Randy V. Hill and wife, Sharon, of Crossett; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Monday, December 31, 2018, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Merriweather officiating. A private burial will be in the Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jason Hill, Chad Winn, Lara Hill, Andy Johnson, Daniel Hill and Derek Hill. The family would like to thank Dr. Barry Thompson and staff, Hollie Smith and the hospice staff, her special friends, Ms. Tooty Crain and Ms. Aliesha Foster. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Zion Cemetery Association, 211 Ashley Road 467, Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., Monday in the funeral home chapel.
