Donald F. Chance, 70, of Monroe, Louisiana, died Tuesday, October 23, 2018. Mr. Chance was a native of Ashley County, a resident of Monroe, Louisiana for the past four years and a former resident of Johnsville and Crossett. He graduated from Crossett High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Chance was a heavy equipment operator and a truck driver, having worked for Louis Green Park Service in Sterlington, Louisiana for 20 years. An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed spending time in the mountains of Arkansas, and going country & western dancing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lillian Norrell Chance; his brothers, Charles Leon Chance and Bobby H. Chance and his sister, Violet Chance.
He is survived by his son, John Chance; his daughter, Shannon Massey both of Monroe, Louisiana; his brother, David Chance of Sheridan; two grandchildren, Tatum R. Chance and John K. Massey and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be 2 p.m., Saturday, October 27, 2018, in the Carlock Cemetery with Bro. Mike Chain officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Davis, Steven Dale Davis, Tony Chance, Matthew Chance, Cody Chance, and Leonard Wayne Chance
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
