Danny Moyers, 78, of Crossett, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. Mr. Moyers was a native of Snyder and a resident of Crossett for the past 53 years. He graduated from Portland High School in 1956 and from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 1959. He worked for the Georgia-Pacific Corporation Paper Mill for over 40 years. He was a Crossett Volunteer Fireman for 26 years and was a Auxiliary Deputy with the Ashley County Sheriff’s Department for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crossett.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Ezell & Beulah Oswalt Moyers.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Leada Sadler Moyers; two sons, George Moyers and wife, Tommie, and Bill Moyers and wife, Karen, all of Crossett; a brother, Tommy Moyers of Portland; five grandchildren, Matthew, JoAnna & Emily Moyers, Alan & Jared Bickford and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Friday, March 31, 2017 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Staley officiating. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Matthew Moyers, Alan Bickford, Jared Bickford, Elton Dumas, Greg Moyers and Trey Moyers. Honorary pallbearers are the Claude Spainhour Men’s Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 701 Main Street, Crossett, AR 71635 or to the Gideon’s International, PO Box 83, Crossett, AR 71635.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
