Corporal Dennis J. Roberts

Corporal Dennis J. “Shooter” Roberts, 49, of Crossett, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at his residence after a courageous battle with melanoma. Mr. Roberts was a native of Santa Monica, CA a resident of Crossett and Ashley County for the past 28 years. He served 18 years with the Arkansas State Police having obtained the rank of Corporal. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hamburg and he was an Eagle Scout He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold Inglehart and Harold & Marie Roberts. He is survived by his wife, Jan Allen Roberts; a son, Joshua Roberts; a daughter, Kristin Sharp and husband, Phillip, all of Crossett; his parents, Kenneth & Kathleen Inglehart Roberts of Crossett; his grandmother, Ellen Inglehart of Longmont, CO; a brother, Randall A. Roberts of Crossett and a granddaughter, Madison Hope Sharpe of Crossett. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 15, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church inHamburg with Dr. Walter Smith & Rev. David A. Moore officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Clemmons, Mike Hall, Todd Daley, Ovid Switzer, Matt Brooks, David Johnston, Doug McAllister, Members of the Arkansas State Police and fellow Law Enforcement Officers. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Boy Scouts Troop 70, 202 S. Main, Hamburg, AR 71646.
