Clarence “Bubba” Bussell, 87, of Crossett, died Wednesday, August 1, 2018. Mr. Bussell was a native of Roxie, Mississippi; a resident of Crossett for the past 38 years and a former resident of Hamburg. He graduated from Hamburg High School in 1950 and was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bussell was a member of the West Crossett Missionary Baptist Church. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a founding member and past President of the Hamburg Bass Club. Mr. Bussell was also an avid Razorback fan, NASCAR fan and he enjoyed bowling. He loved his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
He is preceded in death by an infant daughter, his parents, Earnest and Margaret Tatum Bussell and a brother, Earnest Bussell, Jr.
He is survived by a son, Doug Bussell, and wife, Beverly; a daughter, Dayla Gwin and husband, Carl, all of Crossett; a sister, Myrtle Cochran of Hamburg; six grandchildren, Kristy Kelley, Danielle Kelley and husband, Bodhi Swan, George Lewis, D.J. Bussell and wife, Maleah, Harmony Penny and husband, Zach, and Taylor Bussell; three bonus grandchildren, Carly Gwin Tyson and husband, Jon, Peyton Gwin and Nicole Maxwell Hill; seven great-grandchildren and a niece, Derenda Stanley and husband, Eddie.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Saturday, August 4, 2018, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Clayton Hales and Bro. Chris Sexton officiating. Burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery. Pallbearers are D.J. Bussell, George Lewis, Peyton Gwin, Brad Gill, Bodhi Swan and Zach Penny. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Hobbs, Teddy Hickman, James Coody and Merchel Roberts. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., Saturday in the funeral home chapel.
