Brother Roy Glenn Craig, 82, of Possum Valley, passed away, Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at his home. Brother Craig was a native of Hamburg; a resident of Possum Valley in Drew County for the past 11 years and a former resident of Crossett for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He attended Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock and was a Minister for 55 years. He pastored and organized churches in Southeast Arkansas and North Louisiana. He also attended the Eaton Barber College in Little Rock and was a Barber for 53 years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and also served as the Associate Pastor. He was an avid hunter, a loving and devoted, husband, father, grandfather, Christian and Pastor to all.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, of 47 years, Edith Mae Willis Craig in 2001; a son, David Craig in 2010, his parents, Richard & Bertie Pogue Craig; a brother, Doyle Craig and a sister, Edith Nell Meeks.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie White Knowles Craig of Possum Valley; two sons, Keith Craig of Crossett and John Paul Craig and wife, Rita, of Longview; a daughter, Patricia Martin and husband, Jimmy, of Hamburg; a daughter-in-law, Kay Craig Malan of Possum Valley; a sister, Dorris Kelley of Crossett; 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; his extended family: son, James Knowles and wife, Renee, of Possum Valley; three daughters, Eulea Kiraly of Monticello, Hope Jones of Mayflower and Mollie Ward and husband, Rob, of Austin, Texas; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Saturday, June 7, 2014 in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Carter and Bro. Kevin Dunn officiating. Burial will be in the Hollis Chapel Memory Garden.
