My deepest sympathy to the family of Bro. Roy. I only learned today of his passing and am so very sorry that I didn't know sooner. Most of you wouldn't know me, but am sure you'd remember some of my older brothers and sisters from the Lindsey Sawyer clan who went to school with him and who loved him like a brother. I'm pretty sure Mama (Iva Gifford Sawyer) told me that Daddy's funeral was one of the first (if not THE first) that Bro. Roy ever preached back in January of 1960. I had just turned eight years old about a week earlier, and it was my first funeral. I've never forgotten it, nor him. He was deeply loved by all of my family who knew him, and will never be forgotten. God bless all of you who mourn him.

Dear Keith, Patricia and all extended Family,

I am saddened to hear of Bro. Roy's passing. I pray God will provide strength through this time for each of you.
I also take great joy in the fact that I was able to see Bro. Roy a couple of months ago when I was home for Uncle James' funeral. I was able to spend some time with him and talk about the impact he had on my life. He was the person that led me to the Lord when I was a young boy and set me on my walk with God. He was always there with a kind word, advice and a laugh. I have many good memories from conversations we had while I was sitting in his barber chair. We talked about so many things, life, God, family and more often than not we ended up talking about deer hunting and running them old dogs. His legacy will live on through those he touched and influenced.

God Bless you and keep you,
Bob & Tamara Burt
