Bobby Jack Johnson Obituary

Bobby Jack Johnson, 81, of Montrose, died Wednesday, February 21, 2018.  Mr. Johnson was a native of Winchester, Arkansas and a resident of Montrose for the past 70 years.  He was a member of the Montrose Baptist Church, a farmer and he enjoyed hunting.  An avid bass fisherman, he was a founding member of the Chicot County Bass Club from 1972 until 1990 and a member of the Mainline Bass Club from 1990 until 2013.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Doris Rotten Johnson and a brother, Kimbro Johnson.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Jean Miles Johnson of Montrose; a son, Randall Johnson and wife, Tricia, of Lake Village; three daughters, Sherry Johnson Pryor and husband, Jerry, of Monticello, Bobbi Ann Barrington and husband, Roger, of Lake Village and Becky Mahaffey and husband, Brent, of Camden; a sister, Kathleen Ward and husband, James, of Crossett; three sisters-in-law, Janet Johnson of Montrose, Linda Freeman and Faye Carruth both of Snyder; five grandchildren, Michael Barrington, Jason Collins, Brian Collins, Blake Mahaffey and Kaitlyn Mahaffey; eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 10 a.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Montrose Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Donaldson and Bro. Andy Connard officiating. Burial will be in the Montrose Cemetery. Pallbearers are Gary Lawson, Chris Stauddy, Roy Rotten, Allen Ward, Dewey Ward and Wesley Johnson.  Honorary pallbearer is Darren Johnson. Memorials may be made to Montrose Baptist Church, PO Box 275, Montrose, AR 71658. 

Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., Saturday at the church.
