Larry L. Stanley Obituary

Larry L. Stanley, 78, of Hamburg, died Sunday, December 17, 2023 at his residence. Mr. Stanley was a native of Fountain Hill and a lifelong resident of Hamburg. He left school in the 9th grade to work on the family farm until he was old enough to start working for the Georgia-Pacific Corporation Plywood Mill as a lay operator and later accepted a Supervisor Position. After several years, he went to work for himself. He bought a pair of large gray mules and began logging. He worked in the logging industry for many years until he changed his career path and started a lawn care service. He finally retired after his health wouldn’t allow him to work any longer. Mr. Stanley was a member of the Louisiana Foxtrotters Association, and he served on the Eden Cemetery Association Committee. Mr. Stanley was a faithful member of the Eden Baptist Church and served his community in any way he could. If anyone was sick or in need, he would be the first person to check on them to see if they needed anything. He enjoyed riding horses, especially his beautiful painted stallion “Spot.” He loved spending time with his family and was so proud of the family he and his wife, Linda, raised together.

He is preceded in death by his father, T.J. Stanley in 2005, and two brothers, Kenneth Stanley in 1996 and James Stanley in 2020.

He is survived by the love of his life of 53 years, Linda Hall Stanley; two daughters, Connie Streeter and husband, Tony, and Wanda Mauser and husband, Brian; a son, Danny Lair and wife, Nicole; his mother, Clellis Ellis Stanley; a brother, Danny Stanley and wife, Sherry, all of Hamburg; two sisters-in-law, Karon Stanley of Wilmar and Sheila Stanley of Crossett; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Eden Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Wesson and Bro. J.W. Dobbins officiating. Burial will be in the Eden Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tyler Streeter, Joey Streeter, Austin Mauser, Nokona Redus, Josh Brooks, Neal Stanley, Clint Stanley, Mark Stanley, and Scott Stanley. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Stanley, Greg Stanley, Bruce Cockerham, Mitchell Stanley, Ricky Johnson and Skip Maxwell. Memorials may be made to the Eden Cemetery Association, c/o Jerry Stanley, 747 HWY 8 W., Hamburg, AR  71646.
