Jonita René Wiggins Bowles, 57, of Crossett, died Wednesday, April 3, 2024, in Montrose as the result of an automobile accident. Mrs. Bowles was a native of West Monroe, Louisiana, a resident of Crossett for the past six years, and a former resident of Hamburg and Ruston, Louisiana. She was a homemaker, a volunteer at the Ashley County Skilled Workshop and was very active in “Autism Speaks” in Hamburg and Crossett. Mrs. Bowles enjoyed making wreaths and flower arrangements and loved spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Eugene Bowles in 2017; her mother, Pauline Benedict Wiggins, her father, Daniel Eugene Wiggins, her father-in-law, Randald Jordan and an aunt and uncle, Jack and Pauline Parks.
Mrs. Bowles’ daughter, Kristy Pauline Bowles and son, William Christopher Bowles, died in the same automobile accident.
She is survived by four sisters, Kathy Brooks and husband, Kirk, of Richmond, Texas, Mae Lee Garner of West Monroe, Louisiana, Glenda “Beth” Gilbert and husband, Tom, of Baltimore, Maryland and Cynthia Frost and husband, Arnold, of McLoud, Oklahoma; two brothers, Daniel Wiggins and wife, Donna, of Noble, Oklahoma and Reuben Wiggins and wife, Sam, of Vinita, Oklahoma; an aunt, Sue Walsworth and husband, Dean, of Walker, Louisiana and a host of nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m., Friday, April 12, 2024, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dean Walsworth officiating. Burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kirk Brooks, Zach Frost, Darryl Falk, Joshua Gilbert, Alex Gilbert and Tiffany Frost. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home, PO Box 28, Hamburg, AR 71646, to help with funeral expenses.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday in the funeral home chapel.
