Janice Marie Leigh, 80, of Hamburg, went to be with her Lord, Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Hospice Comfort Care Center in Little Rock. Mrs. Leigh was a native of Monticello, a resident of Hamburg since 1960 and a former resident of Little Rock. She worked throughout Ashley County for many years and retired from the restaurant industry. Mrs. Leigh was a faithful member of the Fountain Hill First Baptist Church and enjoyed being active with her church family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Johnnie Max Leigh in 2018; her parents, Robin and Estelle Hart Mansfield; a brother, Jerry Mansfield and a sister, Lilly Mae Mansfield.
She is survived by a daughter, Robin Mitchell and husband, Eugene, of Hamburg; two sons, Rickey Leigh and wife, Melissa, of Prosper, Texas and Robert Leigh and wife, Suzette, of Crossett; a brother, Donald Mansfield and wife, Marilyn, of North Little Rock; two sisters, Deb Tate of Bryant and Narcie Holley of Conway; 9 wonderful grandchildren; 11 beautiful great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Sunday, January 14, 2024, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tom Jones and Bro. Clyde Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the Crossroads Cemetery. Pallbearers are Randy Mitchell, David Mitchell, Mike Riley, Casey Riley, Johnnie Leigh, Brock Leigh, and Tyler Nix. Memorials may be made to the church or organization of the donor’s choice.
Visitation will be 1:30 – 2 p.m., Sunday in the funeral home chapel.
