William T. “Tommy’ Savage, 71, of Hamburg, died Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at his residence. He was a native of Crossett, a resident of Hamburg for the past 40 years and a former resident of Jackson, Alabama. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked for Ideal Construction for 40 years having retired in 2007. He was a member of Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church where he was a faithful worker in the Awana program and Vacation Bible School.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Geraldine Miller Myrick and William T. Savage, Sr. and his grandparents, Francis Earl and Clara Miller.
He is survived by three sons, Donnie Savage, Sr. and wife, Elaine, of Raleigh, North Carolina, Wayne Savage, Sr. and wife, Renee, of Jackson, Alabama and Steven Gilbert and wife, Risa, of Hamburg; a daughter, Lara Kilcrease of Crossett; a special aunt, Sue Lea of Conway; 9 grandchildren, Michael Poole and wife, Tammy, Donnie Van Savage, Jr. and wife, Alyson, Adam Savage and wife, Emily, Kimberly Mefford and husband, Michael, Amanda Carter and husband, Jason, Allen Wayne Savage, Jr., Michael Kilcrease, Gracie Gilbert and Rylan Gilbert; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Michael Reese and Bro. Josh Luellen officiating. Pallbearers are Bull Wells, Jeff Foster, Johnny Kilcrease, Norman Higginbotham, Billy Don Cecil and Donnie Miller. Burial will be in the Flat Creek Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers are the Breakfast Club at McDonalds. Memorials may be made to Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church Awana Program, 765 Ashley 70, Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
