William Ray “Bill” Cason, 63, of Hamburg, died Thursday, July 28, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Cason was a resident of Hamburg for most of his life. He graduated from Bruno High School in Bruno, Arkansas in 1970. He was a proud member of the Boilermakers Local 69 for 34 years where he was a Business Agent and Secretary/Treasurer from 1990 – 1993 and President from 2005 until he retired in 2008. He was an active member of the Hamburg First United Methodist Church. He loved to hunt, fish and run dogs.
He is preceded in death by his father, Everett Cason.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathy Chambers Cason; a daughter, Christy Cason Burchfield and husband, Brad, all of Hamburg; his mother, Janice McNaughton Cason Vines of Yellville; two brothers, Danny Wayne Cason of Chipley, Florida and Bob Cason of Valley Springs; 4 sisters, Lois Taylor of Alpena, Jeanette Swafford of St. Joe, Judy Markle of Bruno and Carolyn Cason of Mountain Home, two grandchildren, Cason Clark Meeks and Danica Noel Rowe and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Hamburg First United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Comer officiating. Burial will be in the Flat Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers are Raymond Roberts, Johnny Martin, Dennis Holland, Billy Rice, Don Hartley and Rod Drurey. Honorary pallbearers are his brothers of the Boilermakers Local #69. Memorials may be made to the Hamburg First United Methodist Church, 202 S. Main, Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
