Thomas Richard "Joe" Martin

Thomas Richard “Joe” Martin, 75, of Hamburg, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at his residence.  Mr. Martin was a native and life long resident of Hamburg.  He was the owner of J&P Construction Company and J&P Quick Lube.  He was a former member of the Hamburg Fire Department for 13 years and he was a member of the Martinville Baptist Church.  He was a family man and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Haywood “Woodie” and Dorothy Callaway Martin and a brother, Jimmy Martin.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pat Edwards Martin; two daughters, Bobbie Jo Martin and Donna C. Knight and husband, Mike, all of Hamburg; four brothers, James “Sonny” Martin and wife, Charlene, of Crossett, Freddie Martin and wife, Joy, Bobby Martin and wife, Sylvia, and Randy Martin and wife, Lacey; three sisters, Dorothy Savage and husband, Bo, Gladys Gulledge and husband, Rev. Edward, and Judy Bates and husband, Gene, a sister-in-law, Debbie Martin, all of Hamburg; three grandchildren, Wade Knight, Kyle Knight and Jake Stevens; two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Brayden and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the Martinville Baptist Church with Bro. Ryan McRae and Bro. Edward Gulledge officiating.  .  Burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Brad Martin, Neil Martin, Brian Martin, Billy Ray Edwards, Jr., Sky Martin, Caleb Martin, Nick Martin and John Martin.  Honorary pallbearers are Johnny William Pierce, James Thompson, James Jay Martin, John H. Martin, Billy Ray Edwards, Sr., Johnny Edwards and Clyde Edwards, Jr.  Memorials may be made to the Martinville Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Barry Savage, 129 Wright Street, Hamburg, AR 71646.   

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Friday at the church.
