Sibyl Ogden Hutts, 85, of Monroe, Louisiana died Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the St. Francis Specialty Hospital in Monroe, Louisiana. Mrs. Hutts was a native of Hamburg and a resident for many years. She was a resident of Monroe, Louisiana for a number of years and a former resident of Crossett, Hugo, Oklahoma and Kabul, Afghanistan. She graduated from Hamburg High School and she graduated from the University of Arkansas at Monticello with a degree in Psychology and Business. She was the former administrator of the Hamburg Nursing Home. She was a member of the Lea Joyner United Methodist Church in Monroe, Louisiana and a former member of the Hamburg United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Jessie J. Ogden and A.C. Hutts; a son, Patrick Wayne Ogden; her parents, Abner & Alice Louise Jones Deal; two sisters, Madonna Sue Deal and Jolaine Deal Crouch and a brother, Harold Deal.
She is survived by a son, Mike Ogden and wife, Donna, of Hamburg; a daughter-in-law, Melaine Ogden of Jonesboro, Louisiana; two brothers, James and Jerry Deal both of Crossett; three sisters, Linda Kelley and Martha Pennington both of Hamburg and Rosemary Martin of Monticello; two granddaughters, Stephanie Knight of Ruston, Louisiana and Haley Rice of Memphis; three great-grandchildren, Laura, Larissa and Rebecca and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2015 in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Comer officiating. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Jerry Skender, Cliff Ladd, Trapper Holland, Bobby Griffin, Al Harrison and Greyson Shaffer. Memorials may be made to the Hamburg United Methodist Church, 202 South Main Street, Hamburg, AR 71646 or to the Lea Joyner United Methodist Church, 4390 Old Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA 71203. The family would like to thank the Lea Joyner United Methodist Church family and Katherine Gipson for the love and care shown to our mother.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
