Roy Brewer, Jr., 77, of Hamburg, died Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. Mr. Brewer was a native and life long resident of Ashley County and Hamburg. He worked for P.E. Barnes Lumber Company for 47 years. He enjoyed being around people. He was loved by everyone and would help anyone.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Cynthia Erving Brewer; four brothers, Otis, Religh and Fintis Brewer and Luncus Mitchell and a step-son, Robert Franklin.
He is survived by a son, Alvin Brewer and wife, Michelle, of Hamburg; four daughters, Linda Wright and husband, John, and Irecia Brewer all of Crossett, Tamara Franklin and husband, McCoy, of Hamburg and Virginia Martin of Little Rock; a step-daughter, Patricia Leonard and husband, Clyde, of Hamburg; four sisters, Ollie Lee Brewer, Abby Clark and Earlene Savage all of Montrose and Betsy Hudson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Epistles of God Church of Deliverance with Pastor Mary Arnold officiating. Burial will be in the Phillip Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-6 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
