Robert A. Sims, 89, of Wilmot, died Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Cavalier Healthcare Center in England, Arkansas. Mr. Sims was a native of Sikeston, Missouri and a resident of Wilmot since 1937. He graduated from Wilmot High School in 1945. He was a cotton farmer and a member of the Wilmot Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Gella Coatney Sims; three brothers, Reginald, Ray and Raymond Sims; two sisters, Juanita Collins and Fern Riggs and a nephew, Tommy Sims.
He is survived by a nephew he helped raise like a son, James R. Sims and wife, Dianna, of England and nephew, Randy Riggs and wife, Stacy, of Pensacola, Florida; a great-niece, Rebecca Riggs; a great-nephew, Robert Riggs and a sister-in-law, Vivian Sims Jeffers and husband, Carl Dean, of Portland.
Graveside services and burial are 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the Wilmot Cemetery with Bro. Josh Luellen officiating. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Arkansas, 201 Markham Center Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m., - 10 a.m., Tuesday at the cemetery.
