Patty Jean Wolfe Nelson, 76, of Hamburg, died Sunday, December 25, 2016 in Hendersonville, Tennessee.  Mrs. Nelson was a native of Monticello and a resident of Hamburg for the past 53 years.  She moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee four months ago to live with her daughter.  She was a homemaker and was a daycare provider in her own home for 13 years.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church.  A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she loved spending time with her family and she enjoyed cooking and traveling.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Young and Hazel Mullins Wolfe and an infant sister.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, C. Dean Nelson of Hamburg; a daughter, Sheila Fleming and husband, Jeff, of Hendersonville, Tennessee; two sons, Jon Nelson and partner, Gino Trunzo, of Staten Island, New York and Bryant Nelson and wife, Connie, of Jerome, Idaho; a sister, Lynda McDougald of Hamburg; five grandchildren, Ethan, Win and Alexandra Fleming all of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Jesse and Jake Nelson both of Jerome, Idaho; two nieces, Rhonda Higginbotham and Tammy Woodard and a nephew, Steven Nelson.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2016 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Pennington, Dr. Garry Graves and Rev. Eugene Howie officiating.  Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park.  Pallbearers are Dr. John Tice, Jeff Martin, Bryan Hollis, Keith Long, Johnny William Pierce and J. C. Higginbotham.  Honorary pallbearers are Marty Martin, Chad Higginbotham, Jimmy Murphy, Steven Nelson, Joe Foote, Dane Weindorf, Fernando Mondragon, Billy Dean Akers, Kenneth Williams, Clifford Bowden, Jerry Wayne Graves and the Men’s Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church.  Memorials may be made to Gideon’s International, PO Box 83, Crossett, AR 71635 or the Sarah Cannon Research Institute, 250 25th Avenue North, Nashville, Tennessee 37203.  

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
