Nelda Hill Wells

Nelda Hill Wells, 69, of Hamburg, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at her residence.  Mrs. Wells was a native and life long resident of Hamburg having lived in the Promise Land Community for most of her life.  She worked at Farmer’s Bank for over 20 years and was a member of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church.  She loved people and cherished each and every friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Billy & Carolyn Strickland Hill and two nephews, Shannon Hill and Billy Hill.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Thomas Wells of Hamburg; a daughter, Shelley Stewart and husband, Andy, of Collinston, Louisiana; a son, Shane Wells and fiancé, Christie, of Hamburg; two brothers, Billy “Butch” Hill and wife, Phyllis, of Hamburg and James “Buddy” Hill and wife, Tammy, of Newport; five grandchildren, Taylor Wells, Shanie Wells, Kash Stewart, Shaye Stewart and Jalyn White and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 10 a.m., Friday, November 3, 2017 at Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Josh Luellen and Bro. Trey Emory officiating.  Burial will be in the Promise Land Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Dewey “Scutter” Kilcrease, Blaine Kilcrease, Willard Erwin, Steve Collins, Andrew Hartshorn and Jeff Foster.  Memorials may be made to the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church Children’s Programs, 765 Ashley Road 70, Hamburg, AR  71646.  

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
