I remember Mary Frances from the summers that I spent in Mist with my grandparents, Lorene and Basil Cook. Mary Frances would often drop in and sit and visit for awhile in their house. The Mist community was small with just a few families and they all knew each other and visited to keep up with the latest news and stories. The last time I saw Mary Frances was in September 2008, when I evacuated Houston during Hurricane Ike and drove to ElDorado where my aunt MarySue Cook White and uncle Robert took me to Mist to see my grandparent's old home place. We stopped in at Mary France's home across the highway and visited with her on her front porch. I enjoyed seeing her and reminiscing about my grandparents and Mist. She was articulate, smart, interesting, and always had something to add to a conversation. Dudley, my condolences to you and your family.

Dudley and Karen, We're so sorry to hear of Mary Frances's passing--I really thought we all had a few more months (at least) of her wonderful company and many, many stories. (Everytime I heat up my coffee in the microwave-I think of her). Now I'm really more grateful she was able to attend Eric's high school graduation. You could tell she enjoyed going. Please know our thoughts are with you now and in the future.

Growing up in Mist and having Ms Frances as a family friend was such a blessing. She was a great friend to my dad. Along with my grandparents. I always had such great respect for her and will remember drinking lemonade at her house when I was very young! She spent many hours visiting the Cook family and was such a special friend!!! I am very sorry to hear that she has passed, She will be greatly missed but never forgotten!!!!!

We wish we had gotten to know your Mother better. The last time we saw her she was so excited for her and the dog to make a trip to Nebraska. We shared a love of dogs, she never met a stranger, she was fearless, and she was brave. Sharp as a tack, we hope she wasn't sick/didn't suffer long, because she was so independent, that helplessness would have NEVER have agreed with her constitution! Someone p[ease give her beloved dog a loving home. She loved life and lived it to the fullest, and none of us could ask for more. Prayers for all of you during this time.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of my special friend, Prairie Mary, as she called herself. We corresponded mostly by email after she left Nebraska, and the notes from her were the high lights of my days. She loved her home, her dogs, her family, and her God. I will miss her ever so, but have joy in the fact that she's now in her eternal home in the arms of Jesus. I love you, Mary.

Karen and Dudley, I am so sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers are with you and all my other cousins, cuz, as Mary Frances always greeted me that way.
