Marjory Cossey, 92, of Hamburg, died Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Cossey was a native of Russellville; a resident of Hamburg for the past 20 years and a former resident of Eudora for many years. She worked at the Garment Factory in Eudora for 20 years. She was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife who did everything with her husband. She was of the Assembly of God faith, a devoted Christian and she would help anyone. She enjoyed gardening and was always busy and happy. She was always satisfied with what she had.
She is preceded in death by a son, Tilmon Cossey; her parents, Jess and Leona Hamilton and two brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Henry Cossey; a daughter, Betty McDill both of Hamburg; a daughter-in-law, Dottie Cossey of Lafayette, Louisiana; a brother, William Hamilton of Woodlawn; three sisters, Velma Gillum of Snyder, Adelaide Hamilton of Monticello and Bobbie Jennings of Texas; three grandchildren, Jimmy Cossey of Lafayette, Louisiana; Johnny Hodge and wife, Jan, and Steven Hodge and fiancé, Brandi White, all of Hamburg; six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 11 a.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Josh Luellen officiating. Burial will be in the Parkdale Cemetery. Pallbearers are Johnny Hodge, Steven Hodge, Kenneth Cossey, Norman Cossey, Elbert Ray Cossey and Tommy Wood. Honorary pallbearers are Colton Hodge, Jimmy Cossey, Coleman Matthews, James Matthews, Donald Matthews, Woodie West, Jeff Gillum and Wayne Gillum. Visitation will be 10 – 11 a.m., Saturday in the chapel.
