Welcome to the memorial page for

Margaret Wesson DuBose

June 18, 1921 ~ January 2, 2017 (age 95) 95 Years Old

Margaret Wesson DuBose, 95, of Hamburg, died Monday, January 2, 2017 at Stonegate Villa Health & Rehabilitation Center in Crossett.  Mrs. DuBose was a native of Ashley County and a resident of Hamburg and Fountain Hill all of her life.  She was a member of the Gardner Baptist Church and she knew Jesus Christ the Son of God who came to earth to give the gift of life to all who knew Him.  She knew Jesus, she put her trust in Him and is now at home with Him. She was a perfectionist when it came to her house, everything from making the bed to mowing the yard.  She was an avid fisherman and loved fishing on the Saline River. She was a great cook although she would never admit to it. She was sometime the butterfly and sometime the bee.  She had the work ethic which is defined by growing up during the recession and the determination which comes from doing what it takes to earn and live in Southeast Arkansas.  It was home to her mother and father, and their mother and father.   It meant working in the woods, chopping cotton, working at the Stirling store, working at Chase Bag for 18 years while at the same time being a homemaker, daughter, mother, aunt, sister, a wife and more.  She believed there was no better compliment you could give anyone than to say "he or she is a really hard worker".  The good life for her, was just knowing that her kids and grand kids were ok.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Reese Stanley in 1986 and Bobby Dubose in 1994; her beloved daughter, Carolyn Thrailkill in 2015; her parents, Ben Hardy & Eunice Upshaw Wesson; a brother, Doyle Wesson and two sisters, Frances Stanley and Lavern Welch.

She is survived by a son, Dr. Keith Stanley and wife, Terri, of Edmond, Oklahoma; a son-in-law, Monte Thrailkill of Monroe, Louisiana; a brother, Rev. Sedric Wesson of New Braunfels, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Keith Wesson officiating.  Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to Ashley County Cares, PO Box 366, Hamburg, AR 71646.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
