Mallie Ruth Norrell, 86, of Crossett, died Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Stonegate Villa Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crossett. Mrs. Norrell was a native of Baskin, Louisiana and a resident of Crossett for many years. She worked for the Hamburg Shirt Factory and later for Jade Grocery Store in Crossett. She was a member of Trinity Free Will Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William R. “Boy” Norrell in 2010; her parents, William A. & Della Mae Stephenson Halley; a brother, Roy Halley and two sisters, Hazel Halley Searcy Corker and Elois Bryan.
She is survived by a daughter, Penny Mashburn of Hamburg; two sons, Tommy Lane Smith and wife, Alice, of Crossett and Donald Wayne Smith and wife, Marlene, of Willard, Missouri; two brothers, Dude Halley of West Monroe, Louisiana and Terry Halley of Crossett; 10 grandchildren, Lindsey Meeks and husband, Travis, Clint Mashburn, James Mashburn, Mathew Mashburn and wife, Natasha, Jamie Carpenter and wife, Angela, Lica A. Southern, Kim Beard and husband, Sean, Kathi Sadler, Shawn R. Smith and Padgett Smith and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Trinity Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Boseman officiating. Burial will be in the Carlock Cemetery. Pallbearers are Thomas Halley, Brent Halley, Max Halley, Kevin Halley, Corey Halley, Jacob Halley, Fred Norrell and Larry Norrell.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m., Friday at the church.
