Kathleen "Mama Kat" Wooten

Kathleen “Mama Kat” Wooten, 94, of Hamburg, died Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello.  Mrs. Wooten was a native of Fordyce and a resident of Hamburg since 1942.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Hollis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She was loved dearly by her children and she was a wonderful grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, James Edward Wooten, Sr. in 2013; a grandson, Pete Wells; a great-grandson, Kye Wells; a great-granddaughter, Morgan Pippen; her parents, Will and Vera Brent Harris; a sister, Ernestine Goza; five brothers, Doug, Glen, J.W., Rex and Bobby Gale Harris; a daughter-in-law, Betty Ann Wooten; a son-in-law, Bobby Pippen and a grandson-in-law, Paul Berryman.

She is survived by three sons, Eddie Wooten and wife, Jackie, Steve Wooten and wife, JonEtte, and John Wooten and wife, Diane, all of Hamburg; three daughters, Joan Wells and husband, Tommy, of Hamburg; Brenda Pippen of Crossett and Kathy Fox and husband, Wesley, of Hamburg; 19 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are 10 a.m., Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Hollis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Dan Wooten and Bro. Josh Carver officiating. Burial will be in the Hollis Chapel Memory Garden. Pallbearers are her great-grandsons. Memorials may be made to Hollis Chapel Memory Garden, c/o Mrs. Joan Wells, 263 Ashley Road 425, Hamburg, AR 71646. 

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
