Johnnie Mack Nolan, 78, of Hamburg, died Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. Mr. Nolan was a native of Farmerville, Louisiana and a resident of Hamburg for 63 years. He graduated from Hamburg High School in 1955 and was a veteran for the United States Army. He worked for W.E. Tucker Oil Company for many years and finished out his working career at Norris Oil Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He served as an alderman for the city of Hamburg for many years and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Pearl White Nolan.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sue Tucker Nolan, one daughter, Johnette Sullivan and husband, Jimmy Mack, all of Hamburg; one sister, Sandra Johnston of Plattsville, Alabama; a granddaughter, Wendy Hale and husband Cody of Hamburg; two great-grandsons, Jace and Gatlin Hale; one niece and two nephews.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m., Tuesday, September, 22, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Pennington officiating. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Cody Hale, Jack Shell, John H. Buatt, Kelly Johnston, Kelley Gates, Dale Lauhon, and Gordon Hennington. Honorary pallbearers are the Men’s Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church and Mayor Dane Weindorf and the Hamburg City Council. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church P.O Box 352, Hamburg, Arkansas 71646. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg.
Visitation will be Monday 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
