Jo Ann Hambers, 72, of Greenwood, Mississippi, died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Mrs. Hambers was a native of Lake Village; a resident of Greenwood, Mississippi for the past 24 years and a former resident of Lake Village for many years. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She enjoyed volunteering at Life Help in Greenwood, Mississippi
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hambers in 1981; an infant baby and her father, Lonnie Knight.
She is survived by a son, Bill Hambers, III of Lake Village; a daughter, Sandra Hambers; her mother, Faye Parks Knight; a brother, Ronnie Knight all of Greenwood, Mississippi; two sisters, Betty Milholland of Fort Worth, Texas and Linda Pate of Jackson, Mississippi; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be 10 a.m., Thursday, September 1, 2016 in the Portland Cemetery with Rev. Craig Chain officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 901 N. University Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72207.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
