Jerry Don Savage, 70, of Fountain Hill, died Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. Mr. Savage was a native and life long resident of Fountain Hill. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam Era. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 30 years and was a member of the Fountain Hill United Methodist Church. He loved his family and he loved spending time with his family. He was always ready to help people that needed his help.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Sallie Durey Savage; three brothers, Orrel, J.C., and Boyd Savage; three sisters, Vada Moses, Elroy Kirkland and Nancy Shaver; his mother and father-in-law, Harrison & Hortence Shaver; two brothers-in-law, Sonny and Buddy Shaver and a sister-in-law, Margaret Oliver.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dollie Jean Shaver Savage; a daughter, Tammy Allison and husband, Jason, all of Fountain Hill; a son, Carlton Savage and wife, Shelly, of Conway; three brothers, Lyance “Bo” Savage and Eddie Dean Savage both of Hamburg and Lawrence Savage of Maplevale; two sisters, Jackie Brooks and Chryl Slocum both of Fountain Hill; three grandchildren, Jaci Terry and husband, Toby, Brendon Savage and Bryce Savage and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services are 3 p.m., Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Fountain Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Boyd Savage officiating. Burial will be in the Flat Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers are Rocky Savage, Ricky Savage, Eddie Savage, Jr., Bobby Maxwell, B.J. Vail and Billy Edwards, Jr. Memorials may be made to the Flat Creek Cemetery Association, PO Box 265, Fountain Hill, AR 71642.
The family will be receiving friends Friday evening from 6-9 p.m., at the Fountain Hill United Methodist Church.
