Glen Henderson Oden

December 26, 1939 ~ October 3, 2015 (age 75) 75 Years Old


           Glen Henderson Oden, 75, of Crossett, died Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Lincoln Heights Health Care Center in Star City.  Mr. Oden was a native of the Milo Community outside of Hamburg; a former resident of Vicksburg, Mississippi and Delta, Louisiana having moved to Crossett in 2011.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a truck driver for 55 years, President of the Bread of Life Ministries and a member of the American Legion Post 111.

            He is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Sue Oden in 2011; a son, Anthony Dewayne Oden; his parents, George Hiram & Audrey Marie Henderson Oden and a brother, Harold Ray Oden.

            He is survived by his partner, Barbara Martin of North Crossett; a son, George Oden and wife, Shannon, of Vicksburg, Mississippi; three daughters, Glenda Tippitt and husband, William, of Hamburg, Tina Holt of Branson, Missouri and Amanda Holt of Texas; a brother, Roy Gene Oden and wife, Jeanette, of Joaquin, Texas; three sisters, Betty Sue Rabb and husband, Jay, Iris Ebarb and husband, Roy, all of North Crossett and Brenda Kay Blankenship and husband, Steve, of Gonzales, Louisiana; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

            Graveside services and burial are 2 p.m., Saturday, October 10, 2015 in the Eden Cemetery with Bro. Kenny Bolin and Bro. Allen Hagood officiating.  Pallbearers are Cody Shiers, Bryan Johnson, Tommy Rivers, James Rivers, Michael Oden, Joe Oden, Jeff Russell and William Tippitt. 

 

Visitation will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
