Dennie Jenkins

August 2, 1934 ~ May 18, 2017 (age 82) 82 Years Old

Dennie Jenkins, 82, of Hamburg, died Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett.  Mr. Jenkins was a native and lifelong resident of Ashley County and a resident of the Milo Community outside of Hamburg since 1975.  He was a retired Logging Contractor and a Cattleman who enjoyed raising cows.  He was a member of the Egypt Missionary Baptist Church.  He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and neighbor.  He enjoyed  squirrel hunting with his grandsons, raising squirrel dogs and bailing hay.

He is preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Stella Nicole Peters; his parents, Arthur Lee “Tea” & Nellie Carter Jenkins; seven brothers, Dewayne, Paul, Panzie, Edward, Troy, Roy and Brutus Jenkins; four sisters, Fredia Mae Thomas, Erma Lee Vail, Lois Rietzell and Jeanette Cox.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sybil Craig Jenkins of Hamburg; two sons, Jeff Jenkins and wife, Sharon, of Hamburg and Greg Jenkins of Hampton; three daughters, Debbie Gates and husband, Randy, of Moro Bay; Shari Bozeman and husband, Rick, of Hamburg and Jennifer Grider and husband, Jay, of Maumelle; a brother, Linwood Jenkins and wife, Audrey, of Crossett; 12 grandchildren, Brandon Gates, Garrett Gates, Sydney Kidwell, Toni Franklin, Cole Richard, Gabby Grider, John Jenkins, Lauren Jenkins, Jack Jenkins, Zack Jenkins, Jake Jenkins and Aja Ferrell; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 10 a.m., Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Egypt Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Rose and Lane Culp officiating. Burial will be in the Egypt Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Brandon Gates, Garrett Gates, Zack Jenkins, Cole Richard, John Jenkins, Blake Franklin, B.J. Kidwell, Jake Jenkins and Jack Jenkins.  Honorary pallbearers are Penny Jenkins, Bruce Jenkins, Pat Allison, Mike Richard and Steve Jenkins.  Memorials may be made to the Egypt Missionary Baptist Church, 563 Ashley Road 95, Hamburg, AR 71646.   

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday at the church.
