Christine Moore

Christine Moore, 72, of Hamburg, died Friday, December 23, 2016 in Lake Village.  Mrs. Moore was a native and life long resident of Hamburg.  She was a retired healthcare worker and she was a member of Higher Heights Ministries and a former member of Phillip Grove MBC.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas “Scrap Iron” Moore; five children; her parents, Matthew J. and Pearlie Mae McLeroy Johnson; a sister, Lovie Hulett and one grandchild.

She is survived by a daughter, Lora Ann James and husband, Henry Manuel, of Lake Village; two sons, Johnny Cal Moore of Hamburg and Kenneth Moore and wife, Alma, of Portland; a brother, Alfred Robinson and wife, Etta, of Hamburg; a very special Aunt, Maxcine Prewitt and husband, James, of Hamburg; six granddaughters, Danielle Smith, Alistine Ward, Candace Smith, Kimberly Harris, Renea Hicks and husband, Kevin, and Taz Moore; a grandson, Joshua Moore; 16 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild, Issiah; a special friend, Clarence Johnson and a host of nieces and nephews

Graveside services are 2 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Johnson Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Horace Ingram and Rev. Jessie Mae Goodwin officiating.  Pallbearers are Levi Rucker, Sylvester Warren, Daniel Smith, LeRon Miller, Willie Gulley and James Jones.  Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters.  

Visitation will be 12 p.m. - 1 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
