Charles Prentiss Harrell, 70, of Parkdale, died Saturday, April 21, 2018. Mr. Harrell was a native of Mississippi and a resident of Parkdale for many years. He served in the Arkansas National Guard and worked as a welder and Manager of the Parkdale Gin. Mr. Harrell was a member of Parkdale Baptist Church and was proud to be a Christian, who would share his faith to all that would listen. He was very well respected by everyone in Parkdale, a friend to all and he never met a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Diane Morris Harrell in 2006; a son, Brant Harrell in 2010; his parents, William and Lillie Gooden Harrell and a sister, Cindy Vanhorn.
He is survived by a son, David Harrell and wife, Alison, of Maumelle, (Charles loved Alison like a daughter and adored her for being a devoted caregiver to him for the past four months); a son, Allen Harrell of Parkdale; a daughter, Denise Singer of Brandon, Mississippi; two brothers, Ricky Harrell of Leland, Mississippi and Roger Harrell of Kosciusko, Mississippi; four sisters, Brenda Whatley of El Dorado; Paulette Hougas of Shaw, Mississippi, Bobbie Fuller of Isola, Mississippi and Glenda Swain of Kosciusko, Mississippi; two grandchildren, Chloe Cardin and Charlie Cardin; his lifelong, dearest friend, Harry Dunigan of Parkdale and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Parkdale Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Bridges and Bro Cecil Harvey officiating. Burial will be in the Parkdale Cemetery. Pallbearers are Harry Dunigan, Lance Dunigan, Dale Dunigan, Billy Wells, Zachary Pamplin and Ben Coulter. Memorials may be made to the Parkdale Baptist Church, PO Box 6, Parkdale, AR 71661.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
