Mr. Lewis Garner Hancock, 80, of Hamburg died Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science in Little Rock. Mr. Hancock was a native of the Milo Community outside of Hamburg and a former resident of South Gate California. He lived in Ontario, California for over 30 years having moved back to the Milo Community in 1987. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean Conflict. He worked for Southern California Edison Company for 34 years having retired in 1987. He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, the American Legion and the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post of Hamburg.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred & Verlie Pennington Hancock.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Audrey Orr Hancock of Hamburg; a daughter, Cathie Bisson and husband, Danny, of Ogden, Utah; a brother, Scott Hancock of Apple Valley, California and two grandsons, Joshua & Cody Bisson.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at the Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Boyd Savage and Rev. Judith Ross officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers are Royce Oden, Tom Brown, Don Hunter, Bruen Craig, Jay Rabb and Donny Jeffers. Honorary pallbearers are Johnie Guthrie, Don Pennington, Conrad Pennington, Bruce Pennington, Ronnie Pennington, Buddy Simmons and Willard Noble.
