Mr. Henry L. Hensley, 52, of Hamburg, died Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs. Mr. Hensley was a native of Northridge, California; a resident of the Mist Community outside of Hamburg since 1969 and a former resident of Eudora and Monticello. He graduated from Hamburg High School in 1979. He was a consultant for the timber industry and a member of the Hamburg Rescue Unit. He was a member of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Jack Stone Hunting Club. He loved to hunt and fish and he never met a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl & Flora Pirtle Hensley; a brother, Garrey Hensley; his grandparents, Jessie & Louise Pirtle and Henry E. & Janie Hensley and a special nephew, Garrey Hamilton.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Marlene Cecil Hensley of Hamburg; a daughter, Meagan Simms and husband, Jeremiah, of Wilmot; a son, Josh Hensley and girlfriend, Leigh Lochala, of Hamburg; three brothers, Carl Dean Hensley and wife, Gloria, of Monticello, James Hensley of Brooklyn, New York and David Hensley and wife, Mary Jane, of Rison; a sister; Diana Hamilton and husband, Carroll, of El Paso, Texas; five grandchildren, Micah, Casen; Evie, Garyn (Hank) and Cooper; two step-grandchildren, Jaxon & Alex; his life long best friend, Keith Ladd and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Williams, Rev. Michael Reese and Rev. John Mooney officiating. Burial will be in the Promise Land Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church, 765 Ashley 70 Road, Hamburg, AR 71646.
