Mr. Jerry Rice, 62, of Crossett, died Friday, July 6, 2012. Mr. Rice was a native of Portland and a resident of Crossett since 1952. He graduated from Crossett High School in 1968 and he worked for the Georgia-Pacific Paper Mill for 40 years. He was an avid hunter and Razorback fan. He played softball for many years and he loved the outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey & Annie Marie Parks Rice; a brother, Calvin Rice and a sister, Linda Gayle Rice.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Clarissa Phillips Rice of Crossett; a daughter, Terra Rice and her fiancé, Chad Powell, of West Monroe, Louisiana; two brothers, David Rice and wife, Brenda, of Crossett and Randy Rice and wife, Lisa, of Cookson, Oklahoma; a sister, Elaine Barnstable of De Queen, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2012 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Watt and Rev. Dale Doss officiating. Burial will be in the Carlock Cemetery. Pallbearers are Frank Ross, Philip Reed, Darren Brantley, Mike Hughes, Billy Watkins, Kenny Sawyers, Mike Robbins and Lynn Duncan.
