Mrs. Mitzi E. Carpenter, 63, of Hamburg died Thursday, July 5, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Carpenter was a native of Patterson, Arkansas and a resident of Hamburg for the past 44 years. She was a homemaker and an active member of the Southside Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife and she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth & Dorothy Malone Greenfield.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Glenn A. Carpenter; a son, Kenny Ray Carpenter and wife, Charly; a daughter, Candie Stafford and husband, Billy (Bubba), all of Hamburg; a brother, Michael Greenfield and wife, Edith, of Marion, Louisiana; two sisters, Brenda McHenry and husband, Allan, of Griffin, Georgia and Gloria Schoonover of Hamburg; her mother-in-law, Marcy Carpenter of Hamburg; ten grandchildren, Jay Griffith and wife, Kristyn, Tyler Stafford, Zachery Griffith, Hayden Stafford, Raven Griffith, Brittney Stafford, Jane Claire Pruitt, Landon & Tanner Price and McKenna Rae Carpenter and a great-granddaughter, Brylei Griffith.

Funeral services are 3 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2012 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Pullin officiating. Burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery. Pallbearers are Shane Skender, Levi Gray, Jeff Carpenter, Billy Keith McDonald, Trey Hawkins, Monty Brooks, Todd Hickman and Scotty Stafford.
