Mr. Tommy Pennington, 71, of Fountain Hill, died Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. Mr. Pennington was a native of Harrison, Arkansas and a resident of Fountain Hill for 70 years. He retired from the Georgia-Pacific Plywood Mill and he was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Proctor and Thelma Wallis Pennington and a brother, Justin “Red” Pennington in 2007.
He is survived by a daughter, Tammy Lenerville of Nashville, Tennessee; two sons, Martin Pennington of Crossett and Anthony Wood of Shaw, Mississippi; a sister, Diane Kinney; two brothers, Rodney Pennington and Ronnie Pennington all of Fountain Hill; a grandson, Martin Pennington, Jr.; two granddaughters, Jacqueline & Josephine Coleman and a great-grandchild, Kale Thomas Hoggat.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Boyd Savage officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brad Barfield, Mark Pennington, Jeff Pennington, Wayne Pennington, Randy Crum and Curtis Crum. Honorary pallbearers are Harold Hollis, Larry Stanley, Jerry Stanley, Jimmy Welch and Waymond Graham.
