Jeff Carr, 45, of Crossett, died Saturday, May 12, 2012 as the result of an automobile accident in Morehouse Parrish, Louisiana. Mr. Carr was a native of Hamburg; a resident of Crossett for the past year and a former resident of Nashville, Tennessee for 15 years. He graduated from Hamburg High School in 1984. He was a financial advisor for the Retirement Plan Company for the past 12 years. He was a member of the Trinity Free Will Baptist Church. He like music, singing, playing the guitar and he was an accomplished ventriloquist. He worked in radio as a DJ in Crossett, Monticello, Bastrop, and Dermott for several years.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Byard & Lula Smith and BK & Agnes Carr.
He is survived by his parents, Paul & Lillie Smith Carr of Hamburg; two brothers, Billy Watkins of Crossett and Gary Wayne Doss and wife, Pam, of Prairie Grove; two sisters, Audrey Jean Davis and husband, Henry, of Bastrop, Louisiana and Melissa Stanley and husband, Mark, of Hamburg; two half brothers, William Givens of Bastrop, Louisiana and Steven Givens of West Monroe, Louisiana and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2012 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arnold Sheets and Rev. Keith Boseman officiating. Burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery. Pallbearers are Lane Culp, Jason Culp, Chris Watkins, Taylor Watkins, Dr. Carl Johnston and Randy Gifford. Honorary pallbearers are Royce Culp and Mark Morris.
