Mr. Norwood (Chink) McDougald, 72, of Fountain Hill, died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Mr. McDougald was a native of Fountain Hill and a resident of the Shiloh Community outside of Fountain Hill all of his life. He graduated from Fountain Hill High School in 1957 and he served in the Arkansas National Guard. He was a retired Timber Contractor and Farmer. He helped to establish the Fountain Hill Fire Department and served as Chief for several years. He served on the Monticello Pink Tomato Association. He was a member of the Crossett Riding Club, the Fountain Prairie Hunting Club and he was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. He loved hunting, reading and southern gospel music. He was devoted to his family, his church family and his friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Doyle & Lucille Harville McDougald.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lynda Wolfe McDougald of Fountain Hill; two daughters, Tammy Woodard of Fountain Hill and Rhonda Higginbotham and her husband, Chad, of Sheridan; a son of their heart, Steven W. Roberts of Crossett; two brothers, Roger & Ronnie McDougald both of Fountain Hill; a sister, Gloria Bowden of Hamburg and three grandchildren, J.C. Higginbotham, Jolee Higginbotham and Matthew Woodard.

Funeral services are 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Edward Gulledge, Rev. Sonny Simpson, Rev. John Mark Little, Rev. Jimmy Bates and Rev. Keith Wesson officiating. Burial will be in the Flat Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers are Robert Gifford, Mike Richard, Steve Bolin, Frankie Martin, Tom Wright, Robert Bowden, Mark McDougald and Jason McDougald. Honorary pallbearers are Doug Pearson, Andy Riels, James Allen, Wayne Allen, Phillip Allen, Henry George Daniels, Sonny Jones, Dennis Byrd, Clifton “Tip” Gifford and the members of the Fountain Prairie Hunting Club. Memorials may be made to the Shiloh Baptist Church, 716 Ashley 81 East, Hamburg, AR 71646.
