Dovie M. Stanley

Mrs. Dovie M. Stanley, 79, of Hamburg died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the Pinewood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crossett. Mrs. Stanley was a native of Drew County and a life long resident of Hamburg. She was a homemaker and member of the Southside Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her pies.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Grady Stanley in 1983; a son, Larry Stanley; her parents, John Wesley and Vera Higgason Cox and three brothers, Lamar, R.L. & Leroy Cox.

She is survived by a son, Mike Stanley and wife, Susan, of Hamburg; a daughter, Linda Rogers and husband, Jamey, of Siloam Springs; a step son, Bill Stanley and wife, Peggy, of Quinlan, Texas; a brother, Waymon Cox of Monticello; a sister, Peggy Rice and husband, Carl, of Portland; a sister-in-law, Patricia Cox of Crossett; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and friends.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Saturday, April 7, 2012 in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Pullin and Rev. Elvin McDill officiating. Burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery. Pallbearers are John Wesley Jeffers, Michael John Stanley, Scott Stubbs, Davie Holland, Brandon Pearson and Murray Jones.
