Mr. Thomas Ray Pack, 60, of Montrose, died Thursday, March 8, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Pack was a native of Wilmot; a resident of the Mt. Pleasant Community outside of Hamburg for the past three years and a former resident of Hamburg and Crossett. He was a mechanic for Junior Meeks Chevrolet for 29 years and for Ashley County for eight years having retired in 2009.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Alverta Scogin Pack; a brother, James Leroy Pack and a sister, Arlene Pack.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bonnie Middlebrooks Pack; a daughter, Christy Pack both of Montrose; his father and step-mother, Edgar & Barbara Jean Pack of Austin, Arkansas; three brothers, Kenneth Pack of Hot Springs, James Pack of Austin, and Charles Pack of Texas; four sisters, Lula Faye Dawson of Wingate, New Mexico, Lavina Tanksley of Crossett, Linda Bolin of Sanford, Florida and Betty Baker of Wingate, New Mexico; two sisters-in-law, Jewel Pack of Little Rock and Maudie Harper of Montrose; two grandchildren, Sydney Daniels and Braxton Ray Pack; special friends, Jerry Foreman and Jan Lauhon, Emory & Millie Austin, Harold & Clarice Prescott and Deborah Daniels and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 2 p.m., Sunday, March 11, 2012 in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Pack and Ashley County Judge, Emory Austin officiating. Burial will be in the Egypt Cemetery. Pallbearers are the Ashley County Road Department employees and Steven Jeffers. Honorary pallbearers are Sonny Forrest, Roosevelt Goodwin, Jerry Foreman, Desiderio Navarijo-Asensio, Harold Prescott, Undrea Singleton, Earl McCrory and Jackie Keith “Cooter Brown”.
