Mr. Marion “Dale” Ramsey, 68, of Hamburg, died Thursday, February 16, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Ramsey was a native of Helena, Arkansas and a resident of the Hamburg area for the past 40 years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served as an Airman during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a board member and former fire fighter for the Berlin Fire Department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he loved camping with his girls.

He is preceded in death by his father, Marion “Poss” Ramsey in 1964.

He is survived by two sons, Marion Dale Ramsey Jr. of Indiana and Michael O’Neal Ramsey and wife, Jene’, of Harrison; three daughters, Darby Lynn Edgin and husband, Charlie, of Marianna, Cathy Jo Ramsey and Clara Jane Ramsey both of Hamburg; his mother, Clara O’Neal Ramsey of Marianna; three sisters, Frances Miles of Little Rock, Pat Owens of Marianna and Marsha Crader of Collierville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Shady & Tyler Edgin and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm., Sunday, February 19, 2012 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Merriweather officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Helena, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1371 Ashley 25 Road, Hamburg, AR 71646.
